Welcome to the Tri-Regional Infant Hearing Program serving York and Durham Regions, Peterborough, Northumberland and Haliburton Counties and the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Hearing screenings are provided for infants under the age of two months with the goal of identifying permanent hearing issues as early as possible. Early detection and intervention is critical for a child’s language development.

If a baby does not pass the screening, additional testing is available to determine whether a permanent hearing issue exists. If so, follow-up support is provided to connect families to resources that will help maximize their child’s communication abilities.

There is no charge for the hearing screen. This service is available to permanent residents of Ontario. It is provided under the Ontario Infant Hearing Program which is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.

Families can self-book an appointment through the link below.

Please ensure that you and your baby are healthy when you attend your appointment. If you develop any cold or flu-like symptoms before your appointment, please follow the instructions in the confirmation email to reschedule your appointment.
